Released in early 2019, ‘City Pop’ was Benny Sings’ first release for Stones Throw.
The album was inspired by and written in cities all over the world, including New York, LA, Tokyo, Paris and Benny’s hometown of Amsterdam.
‘City Pop’ features some of Benny’s most streamed songs, including ‘Not Enough’ (4.26M streams), ‘Dreamin’’ (2.24M streams) and ‘Familiar’ (1.46M streams).
‘City Pop’ sees Benny blend influences of AOR, R&B, pop, soul and jazz.
Benny worked with Tokyo artist Ryu Okubo for the album art illustration.
‘City Pop’ was co-produced by Renaud Letang of Studio Ferber in Paris, who has worked with Feist, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lianne La Havas.
